The last few weeks we have been bitten by the travel bug. Since we are in the pre-building phase of our owner build hacienda, travel money has been reallocated to building fees & building materials. {Boo} So, we did the next best thing. Thanks to the power of Netflix we visited all 7 continents and our bucket list has dramatically increased with loads of far off & majestic places.

Africa – BBC Africa
In this 6-episode series beautifully done by BBC, we got to explore the arid landscapes of the Kalahari and the ever-changing nature of the Savannah and the animals that dwell there. A glimpse into Africa’s heart, the Congo, we explored one of the Earth’s most dynamic rain forests and a visit to Africa’s southern Cape where two great ocean currents meet. The Sahara and its wonders battle the ever-dwindling resources and the conservation efforts that fight to keep Africa a majestic place.

Asia - Wild China Tibet (Episode 3)
Recently we had a friend that had the opportunity to visit Tibet. Her photos were stunning. Curious to know more we snuggled up on the couch to virtually explore the wonders of Tibet.

North America – Wild Alaska
This 3-part exploration into spring, summer & winter show the vast diversity of the Alaskan weather conditions and the effects it has on the bountiful wildlife. This was a favorite for me as I enjoy adding my own experience from a 14-day excursion I took in 2004 with my older sons.

South America – Colombia: Wild Magic
This visually stunning look at Colombia showcases the countries amazing natural splendors. A highlight for me personally was a look at the gorgeous architecture. (Hint-Hint: I loves me a hacienda!)

Europe – Secrets of Great British Castles – The Tower of London (Episode 2)
I started watching this by myself as I have a great fascination with the Tutor line, but it wasn’t long before Buttercup & Brizzy joined in. This episode explores the long and often notorious history of the Tower of London.

Antarctica – Frozen Planet: The Epic journey
This is a collection of highlights from the Frozen Planet series. It follows the inhabitants throughout the entire polar year.

Australia / Oceania – Oceans of Volcanoes (Episode 4)
In true BBC form the spectacular cinematography explores the birth, growth & death of an island. (I will confess, I was cleaning house while this was on so I really only watch about 4 minutes of it.)
